From my series,

Ode to Us: Me. Dad. Kellie.

On May 15, 2020, my Dad, Hank Rippert, died.

On September 7th, that same year, my best friend,

Kellie Ricks died. I created these paintings to try and

process my love, loss, grief, and growth. They are works

of my heart and a mere glimpse into our lives and love.

'The Call Home'

The week before my dad died, a hospital nurse told my step mom, Bette, that they had found him standing by the window, staring out, in the middle of the night. He hadn't been able to stand or walk in days. The following morning, he had no recollection of the incident. When Bette shared this with me, I had a vision of Dad standing before the window hearing the call of his people, letting him know it was his time to come home.

The Call Home is framed in a solid wood Espresso colored floater frame.
